Contentment in a New Season

Autumn Greetings, and a Cheerful Welcome to October ~

For most of us, this is a season we’ve seen many times before.

And yet, is it ever the same?

Seasonal traditions prompt gatherings that appear to be identical each year. In the fall, our senses are reawakened to the colors, sounds, and tastes of this unique time of year.

Even then, for all of its uniqueness, is any one of us stepping into the same season twice?

When we go beyond the surface, distinctions illuminate quickly. The experiences of the past year affect our individual entry into the season ahead: our bodies and minds have shifted, the people surrounding us have changed, there have been beginnings and endings, some deeply noticeable and others hardly discernible.

May we feel gratitude for comfort found in the sameness that brings warmth and contentment to entering a new season. May we also feel appreciation for the differences, as they too, afford us wisdom and strength.
